Monday (may 13th) my cat of 15 yrs, Fluffy, became very ill. I’ve had Fluffy even before I had my 2 children. She is an old girl and very much loved. I called the vet Monday and they couldn’t get her in until Tuesday night at 5pm. Well, during the day Tuesday (may 14th) she took a turn for the worse. She was hiding, wasn’t being vocal, just wasn’t herself. She hid the whole day under my son’s bed and wouldn’t come out. My husband finally got her out with cat treats. We made the decision during the day that maybe it was her time for kitty heaven :’( I knew the day would come but I didn’t think it would be just yet. I spent those 2 days crying! She is family!
Tuesday night we get to the vet and from the above pictures you would think nothing is wrong. Fluffy, has an infection with her back end glands aka (anal sac disease), cats have 2. The vet had to shave alot of fur off Fluff and then expressed her infected gland. He put her on antibiotic pills for 10 days and wants to see her back in a week to see the spot he expressed.
Fluffy, is doing so much better! From what we can tell. She is vocal, she isn’t hiding, she is back to her playful self. I’m going to enjoy much time with this old gal and hopefully next week when she visits the vet, we’ll continue to get more good news! *fingers crossed & pray to the kitty gods she’ll continue to be ok & her time isnt up just yet* <3
